# Verify your character

## Why?

Some feature inside Teamcraft require your character to be verified. This is meant to avoid list trolling for big FCs or even identity issues when a list is shared or an action is made on a given list.<br>

A character that isn't verified will have its avatar greyed while a verified one will have it full color. The tooltip on a non-verified character also specifies that it isn't verified.

## How?

1. Log in to your account and navigate to your [profile editor page](https://ffxivteamcraft.com/profile).
2. From here, click the small check mark right next to your character's name (see the image above).
3. Clicking on this will show you a dialog box with a code (something like "AnY86GOeqBbE2aEPJpRhpefNzpu2") to copy.
4. Paste this code inside your lodestone bio ([direct link](https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/my/setting/profile/)) and don't forget to save it.
5. Once this is done, go back to Teamcraft and click "Verify".

{% hint style="info" %}
The code to paste is always the same for your account, if you closed the dialog box between steps 3 and 5, you can just reopen it for step 5.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://wiki.ffxivteamcraft.com/guides/verify-your-character.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
